Topic Setup is where a Topic is designed. Open Data Composer → Topic Studio and choose a Topic, or New Topic.

The sections
Section | What you do there |
|---|---|
Name, reference prefix, description, and how items move. | |
The information each item holds. | |
The values people choose from. | |
The Topic's roles and what each may do. | |
The stages items move through. | |
What each role can see and edit, and which items. | |
How items are entered and listed, plus PDF forms. | |
Who's in the Topic, in which roles. | |
Check it and make it live. |
Saving
The whole design is one record, saved together.
The top bar shows how many unsaved changes you have. Save stores them all at once.
Undo and Redo step back and forward through your changes. Deleting never asks "are you sure?"; you can undo it instead.
Your browser keeps a backup of unsaved work, so a crash or a closed tab doesn't lose it.
Leaving with unsaved changes asks first.
People is the exception: changes there take effect straight away and aren't part of Save.
Health
The dots beside each section are health checks: red for what must be fixed before publishing, amber for warnings, and advice. They never stop you saving. Click a finding to go to the place that fixes it.
