Sometimes fixing a finding isn't worth it right now. You can accept it instead: a recorded decision to live with it, until a date.
Steps
Open the finding and choose Accept.
Give a reason.
Choose an until date. The longest allowed depends on its severity, in the Remediation Standards.
Save. The finding shows as Accepted.
When it lapses
An acceptance ends, and the finding goes back to Open ("fix it or accept it again?"), when:
the date passes;
a retest comes out worse;
its severity goes up.
Nothing is rolled over silently.
Good to know
Some severities may be Not allowed to be accepted at all (often Critical).
Accepting needs its own permission (the owner by default). Accepting a finding you raised is allowed but recorded. Conform support can never accept findings.
It's the same idea as accepting a unit over appetite.
