Conform User Guide

The improvement loop

When a test completes below the pass line, Conform encourages five steps. They're ticked for you; untick one and you'll be asked why.

  1. Raise a finding. Always done below the fail line. See Findings.

  2. Flag the unit for its next assessment. The test is linked as the reason and shows on the unit, so its next assessment takes it into account without disrupting everyday work.

  3. Suggest a new or changed control. It lands on the unit as a proposal for the assessor.

  4. Strengthen the test. Notes are added to the checklist for next time.

  5. Retest. A one-off retest card goes on the board, in its strengthened form, due by the Remediation Standards. The regular schedule doesn't move.

Re-cycle now

For genuinely serious failures (life-threatening, or a Key control failing on a unit already outside appetite), Conform suggests Re-cycle now: bring the unit back for assessment straight away, rather than at its next cycle.

Why scores aren't changed automatically

The assessor knows things the test doesn't. So testing proposes and the assessor decides, usually with one click. Until then, the gap shows as claimed vs proven on the unit and in the Assurance Picture.
